Mailyn Gotlund has been providing ASL access to her local community since 2007. Throughout her career, Mailyn has worked primarily as an educational interpreter (K-12), college; including vocational training. She has had the privilege of working with the community through 1:1 services, Children’s theater, video relay services, poetry and fine arts. Mailyn has continued to impact the interpreter community by mentoring numerous interpreters-in-training.
She earned a BA in Sign Language Interpreting from MacMurray College in 2007.
In addition to interpreting, Mailyn has been an active ally for the LGBTQ community through her work with Joliet Pride Network as their Accessibility Chair. She currently sits on the Joliet Pride Network Executive Board.
Mailyn’s priority is to provide communication access anywhere possible. As she views this is one of the easiest and most important parts of being a human.
