This year, IRID hosted our annual membership meeting along with professional development opportunities at Columbia College Chicago on October 15, 2016. I can honestly say that the event was a huge success. We had over 130 in attendance on Saturday and 40 in attendance Friday night for the Student / Entry to Practice Panel Discussion. Thank you to the Panelists for a very stimulating question and answer session.
We had three amazing presenters on Saturday - Anne Orozco, Trudy Suggs, and Ben Hall. I've heard only positive feedback about each of their respective presentations.
Our membership meeting on Saturday was a full three hours. During that time, we were able to pass new bylaws, elect new officers (Vice President, Mandy Grazian; Treasurer, Suzanne Stafford Salerno; Member At Large, Mary Kocsis; Student ITP Representative, Billy Burke), discuss collaborative new initiatives (such as seeking out grant funding for interpreting services not covered under the ADA), announce the Igniting Integration Conference (joint conference with IAD & IRID), lower student membership rates, announced a current survey for mentorship interest and much much more! No wonder I'm still exhausted! *smile*
I want to thank Columbia College for providing us the beautiful space. I also wish to thank the countless member volunteers and student volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to plan and make an event like this run smoothly. I would like to name them all personally but I'm afraid I would overlook someone.

We hope to see you all next June at the Igniting Integration Conference in Naperville, IL.
